HARRAR WALL   8' X 20'  MIXED MEDIA 2014S

INSTALLED IN THE LOBBY AT THE POMERANTZ ART & DESIGN BUILDING AT FIT, NYC

In the summer of 2014, I traveled to Ethiopia. One of the cities I visited was the city/ state of Harar. A Unesco Site whose main attraction is the city wall that stands today as an important example of Islamic architecture in Africa. The installation is not intended to reproduce the architecture of the town. Rather I used a combination of visual design moments I discovered while in Ethiopia, to produce a work in homage to the walls of Harar.
